About Ink and Blot

This blog is inspired in part by the Inklings, a group of writers and intellectuals who gathered to share their work with each other. Among the most famous authors in this group were J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. They usually met in C.S. Lewis' rooms at the college where he worked, but sometimes they met at a local pub. I've always wanted to have a group such as this in my life.

Obviously, a blog is not the same as face-to-face contact and we can't share a pint together. But you are welcome to tote your laptop to a pub and pull up my blog while you enjoy a cold draft of your favorite ale. I hope you do.

My dream for this blog is that it will become a place for conversations about stories, writing, reading, books we love, and books we hate, words we are struggling to pen ourselves, and words others have penned that impact us deeply. I want to build relationships with others while we share our love for all things literary.

Because of the purpose of this blog, I would love it if you would participate in the conversation. Leave a comment or two, share your own thoughts and ideas. I don't want to be the only voice on this blog. I am simply starting the conversation - it is up to you to continue it.
